The New Neogen Day-Light Protection Airy Sunscreen SPF50+ Is The Sunscreen of My Dreams

Knowing the ways the sun affects and damages our skin, I've become obsessive about applying  and reapplying my sunscreen. SPF is an essential part of my everyday morning and day time skin care routine, so I am pretty passionate about trying every Korean sunscreen that comes my way. My goals and needs are kind of specific as I am not just testing for myself but for you as well. It needs to be comfortable, fast absorbing, blend seamlessly into all skin tones, leave zero white cast, good for reapplication and under makeup, no pilling and obviously deliver great sun protection all while being light and non greasy. (I know I am asking for a lot from a sunscreen)

Meet the Neogen Dermalogy Day-light Protection Airy Sunscreen SPF50+. Neogen is known for being at the forefront of Korean skincare trends and technology, developing advanced, innovative, high performing and cruelty-free formulas that deliver. Being a huge fan of the original Neogen Day-Light Protection Sunscreen I had high expectations trying this one out. So what changed with Neogen’s sunscreen and what didn't? Did it work for me? Does it live up to its airy name?

I will break down everything from texture, scent, to application and finish so you know exactly what’s in store and whether the new one lives up to its airy name!

ABOUT MY SKIN: ACNE-PRONE COMBINATION

I’ve always had a challenge with keeping my acne at bay while keeping my skin hydrated and nourished while not making my T-Zone look like a greasy mess. Since I'm reapplying sunscreen every day, I want it to deliver my skin hydrating and nourishing ingredients, boosting my moisture levels without making me greasy. And that's exactly what this Neogen sunscreen claims to do with a light airy finish .

TEXTURE AND FEEL OF NEOGEN DERMALOGY DAY-LIGHT PROTECTION AIRY SUNSCREEN SPF 50+

Lots of sunscreens don't have an appealing texture. They can feel sticky, thick, greasy, or sometimes chalky. But, not this sunscreen! It truly is a joyful experience from start to finish.

When you first squeeze out Neogen’s Dermalogy Day-light Protection Airy Sunscreen SPF50+, you’ll see that it's light, airy, and has a creamy essence-like texture, leaving behind not a bit of greasiness or white cast on the skin. While rubbing it in, I noticed a subtle floral sweet scent that quickly fades away. Once you start working it into the skin, it absorbs almost immediately into the skin, leaving it fresh and soft without any white cast or greasy feel. Since Neogen’s Sunscreen is so lightweight I had no issue layering my makeup after applying it, there was no pilling at all. It creates a nice smooth canvas for you to work on but I wouldn’t call it a primer. It truly is airy and feels like you're wearing nothing on your skin!

THE DIFFERENCE?

The original formulation Neogen Day-Light Protection Sunscreen has a creamier lotion-like texture with a similar scent. When rubbing or patting on your skin it leaves a nice hydrated and nourished feeling with ZERO white cast or stickiness. This has been my favorite winter  sunscreen but in the summer I found myself gravitating towards lighter sunscreens as sometimes I felt this was slightly heavy for my oily t-zone.

MY REVIEW

I first tried Neogen’s original Day-Light Protection Sunscreen while searching for new curations for Live K-Beauty and quickly fell in love. The texture was so unique it blew my mind, it looks creamy but absorbed effortlessly into my skin like a water cream. It would leave my skin glowing, looking healthy and nourished.

Although I truly loved the original Neogen Sunscreen version, it made my combination skin feel a little oily during hot summer days outdoors. (especially in my t-zone area) That’s why I couldn’t wait to try this one once I heard of it being released.

Let me start with WOW! This sunscreen by Neogen is truly airy. The lightweight, essence-like texture spreads nicely and absorbs beautifully into the skin. It leaves a lovely silky finish with ZERO white cast or sticky greasiness even after 3 full fingers of sunscreen! I am happy to say I went on to finish the entire tube and can say this did not cause any acne breakout which is a top concern for me.

FINAL VERDICT

With this sunscreen being more lightweight and yet still hydrating, I think the Neogen Airy Sunscreen will work for most skin types – from dry, oily, combination, dehydrated, to mature skin.
